Just cleared the AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (SAP-C02) exam

Hey everyone, I just cleared the AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (SAP-C02) exam and wanted to share my experience in case it helps someone who’s preparing.

Honestly, this exam is more about real-world architecture thinking than memorization. I focused a lot on understanding trade-offs—cost vs performance, security vs scalability, and when to choose one AWS service over another.

For learning, Udemy courses really helped me build concepts step by step, especially around hybrid architectures, migrations, and complex networking. I also used Coursera and Pass4Success practice tests to strengthen my fundamentals and refresh core AWS design principles, which helped a lot when questions got tricky.

Closer to the exam, I realized practice was key. Doing timed, scenario-based questions helped me understand how AWS frames problems. Overall, consistency mattered more than long study hours. If you’re preparing, focus on understanding “why” a solution works, not just “what” the solution is. Best of luck to everyone on this journey!

First of all congratulations on passing the exam. The SAP exam is no joke.

Do you mind sharing which specific courses from Udemy you found valuable. In the past, I have leveraged Stefan Maarek, with great success (see blog post here https://mybrokencomputer.net/t/my-journey-to-becoming-an-aws-solutions-architect/).

In terms of ‘hands on’ time with AWS, how did you accomplish this - what scenarios did you run through…
